Outstanding Muse Meditation Teacher: Taylor White Moffitt

As a psychotherapist in Colorado for 26 years, my intention has always been to get a job. My belief is that each of us already has the wisdom, knowledge, and information needed to make changes in our lives. From the “I Am All I Need” site, my job is to simply guide my clients and students inward to see their truths, honor them, and communicate with compassion and neutrality. My passion is to develop the potential of humans: as leaders, as professionals, as yoga students, as parents or spouses, as humans.

My workshops include movement trifecta, meditation, and personal work. One of my favorite deals is The Art + Practice of Self Compassion. This course continues to enlighten me by connecting with our community. This course provides tools to illustrate how self-compassion offers all that personal improvement promises. In 2020, I launched Humanity First: The Art + Practice of Being Fully Human, a one-year-long embodied leadership training created to inspire those who are ready to lead and shine their light.

Throughout the year, I offer transformational retreats to provide greater clarity so that people understand who they are, how they affect others, and how they can create peace and ease for themselves and, in turn, those around them. All of my offerings are designed to eliminate our insecurities and open our hearts so that we can be seen and heard by ourselves and others.

Questions and answers with Taylor White Moffitt

How did you discover meditation? Who or what inspired you to meditate?

Meditation found me after a late miscarriage. I found myself having a lot of time to think. At one point, I realized painfully how much THOUGHT was going on and how little BEING was going on. This painful experience was one I tried to “find out.” The more I understood, the worse I felt. Learning to witness my feelings and be with myself was one of the many healing journeys for me in this life so far. Meditation became my friend when I needed it most.

What valuable lesson or information did you discover during your meditation journey?

I thought everyone had the answers except me. I’ve always been a search engine, with a flaw, and as I kept looking, I found all sorts of answers. Most didn’t fit for me. As I learned to witness and observe, I discovered that I was the one who had the answers. I couldn’t have been more surprised.

What is your favorite meditation technique and why?

I think it’s very advanced to sit with yourself, walk with yourself and breathe with yourself. No technique, no shaking hands, mudras, mantras or magic words, just you. The techniques are great and yet for me, they took me further, back to the place of trying to do it right. By just being, as I am, I have found the quietest and most peaceful moments I have ever had.
