Locking Joints in Yoga Will Cause Premature Wear

However, injuries can and do occur while practicing Yoga. It could be that the muscles are not properly warmed-up, a pre-existing condition is irritated, or a beginner tries to push him or herself too far. Safety is primarily the responsibility of the Yoga instructor. It is far better to start slowly and build a strong foundation of safety and self-confidence rather than challenge a student far beyond his or her current level of ability.
