10 tricks to improve well-being through creativity

Have you ever wondered why being creative is so rewarding?

My understanding is that creativity induces the flow state and the flow state further cultivates creativity.

When we are in a state of flow and within the creative process we are in effect within a state of meditation.

This trilogy of creativity, flow state and meditation work together to optimize well-being.

For me it has always been my practice of yoga, as well as teaching yoga has been my method of meditation, my source of flow status and my means of creative expression that certainly provide me with a sense of well-being.

Being creative makes me feel good and good for me. Intuitively, I know, but the mechanisms why and how Creativity works a bit of an enigma. It’s one thing to inadvertently experience the creative process as it unfolds, but really to understand the creative process is worth deconstructing. By doing so, you can identify the elements inside in order to constantly recreate the experience over and over again and delve into it, not only to master it, but to improve the state of flow, meditation and welfare.

My sister Hanna Beech is the principal of an elementary school with more than a decade of teaching experience. He has spent much of his career studying and implementing wellness strategies in schools. Wellness, the arts and the elevation of teaching skills are his passion. She is currently writing a book for school teachers to help them develop their teaching skills. It’s a book full of 60-second teaching tricks. Your job is to understand the processes in order to unlock the potential and optimize the results, so who better to ask about creativity ?!

We got together to talk about how creativity can enhance well-being in an effort to expose the elements of the creative process that are responsible for the state of flow, meditation, and joy. We found that identifying these elements can optimize well-being by increasing self-confidence and resilience, as well as sharpening focus and increasing collaborative skills.

Here are Hanna Beech’s

10 tricks to optimize the creative process

  1. Set the intention to drop

Before you begin, to release the expectation of the process, the results or the final goals. It lets go of your insecurities and allows you to open up to your own vulnerabilities. Release rigidity, control, structure, and boundaries to be open and receptive to new ideas

  1. Plan and anticipate

Create a plan for the expected outcome to some extent. Ask yourself or others: What do we want to achieve? Take time to anticipate what might happen during the creative process. Anticipate possible problems and prepare and plan

  1. Choice of champion

Cheer up, celebrate and enjoy the expression of your choice

  1. Discern the structure of free expression

Take a step back and don’t know the difference between applying (or teaching) key knowledge or skills and over-directing creativity.

  1. Lead by example

When you create with others or make it easier for others, model your own expression, not as an example of a result but as an example of an expression

  1. Go with the flow

Appreciate the changing feelings of the creative process

  1. Ask questions

Ask yourself, ask others: What do you want to do now? how do you want

  1. Have fun

It allows commitment to lead creativity. It must be nice. It can take more than ten minutes or ten days …

  1. Evaluate the process and the result

Take the time to reflect on the creative process, the ups and downs, the flows and the stagnation.

  1. Celebrate and connect

Take out your creation to share with others
