Heart Centered Kirtan
Kirtan is a meditative and energizing practice of devotional call-and-response singing. The repetition of the phrases combined with the back-and-forth nature of this group practice soothes the mind, creates community, and fosters an awareness of something greater than one's individual self.
This month's band features Libby Volckening (harmonium/vocals), James Robinson (guitar/vocals), Melissa Stevens (vocals), Joe Johnson (cello), and Greg Bertsch (percussion).
Heart Centered Kirtans are informal, accessible and inspirational. You don’t need to be a great singer or know any Sanskrit to enjoy Kirtan. Come sing, dance, or just listen -- and let the music clear your mind and relax your heart.
Suggested donation $10-20 appreciated, but not required. Everyone is welcome!
